According to data released by Taiwan's Ministry of Finance, in August this year, Taiwan's iron and steel exports amounted to $1.47 billion, down 19.2% from a year earlier. Iron and steel imports, on the other hand, exceeded $989 million, up 1.8%.
In the first eight months of this year, Taiwan's iron and steel exports decreased by 27.5% to $11.94 billion, while iron and steel imports decreased by 24.4% to $7.99 billion.
