Taiwan-based carbon steel producer Chung Hung Steel Corporation (CHSC), a subsidiary of China Steel Corporation, increased its price for September. The domestic price of hot rolled and cold rolled steel was increased by NT$900/ton, and the domestic price of galvanized steel was increased by NT$1,000/ton.
The company also stated that China has introduced controls on its crude steel production.
The reason why the major steel producers in Asia increased their prices to reflect the costs was explained as the increase in raw material prices.
