Taiwan increased imports of ferrous scrap

Taiwan increased imports of ferrous scrap by 34.4% in September.

Taiwan increased imports of ferrous scrap

Taiwan's imports of ferrous scrap totaled 308,366 tons in September 2023, up 34.4% from the previous month and also up 55.8% from September 2022.

In the nine months since the beginning of this year, Taiwan's imports of ferrous scrap stood at 2.58 million tons, an increase of 18.5% compared to the same period last year. 

During the period under review, 954,666 tons were imported from the United States, with an increase of 5.9%, and from Japan - 738,631 tons, with an increase of 79.4%, both comparisons on an annual basis.
