Chint Solar Türkiye and Kançal Enerji have established a strategic partnership for a licensed solar power plant investment with energy storage.
Under the project, the Kuzukuyu Licensed Storage-Integrated Solar Power Plant, to be built in the Ereğli district of Konya, is targeted to become operational in the final quarter of the year.
The project will feature a total storage capacity of 12.51 MWh along with a solar generation system of 12 MWp installed capacity. The plant will utilize 620 Wp TOPCon technology solar panels manufactured by Astronergy.
In addition, inverter systems with a total capacity of 10 MWe, developed by Chint Power, will be installed. These systems, equipped with high-temperature protection technology, are expected to enhance both efficiency and operational safety.
On the storage side, three liquid-cooled battery units, each with a capacity of 4.17 MWh, will be deployed. This integrated structure will enable synchronized operation of generation and storage, ensuring continuity and flexibility in energy supply.
All engineering processes of the project will be carried out end-to-end by Chint Green Energy. While storage and inverter solutions will be provided by Chint Power, the solar panels will be supplied by Astronergy.
This collaboration aims to bring together the engineering, technological, and manufacturing capabilities of the CHINT Group within a single project to create high added value.
Kançal Enerji Chairman Kaan Kançal stated that the investment is significant both for the companies involved and for Türkiye’s renewable energy targets. He expressed expectations that the project in Ereğli, Konya will deliver sustainable and high value-added outcomes in the long term.
Ercüment Kaya emphasized that the project combines the strengths of the group companies, adding that the integration of engineering expertise, energy storage solutions, and locally manufactured solar panels will make a meaningful contribution to Türkiye’s renewable energy infrastructure.
Storage-integrated solar power plants stand out for enhancing the continuity of renewable energy sources and adding flexibility to the energy system, playing a critical role in Türkiye’s ongoing energy transition.
