Steel production decrease in Poland!

By the end of November, metallurgical enterprises in Poland reduced steel production to 521,000 tons, down from the previous month, according to the data.

Poland's metallurgical sector is marked by a total of ten facilities, including two main blast furnace facilities in Krakow and Dąbrowa-Gurnicz and eight electric arc furnace plants in Chorzow, Czestochowa, Gliwice, Katowice, Ostrowiec, Steel Wola, Warsaw and Zawiercie. The Krakow mill has an annual capacity of 2.6 million tons, while the Dąbrowa-Gurnicz plant reportedly has a capacity of 5 million tons.

In total, Polish metallurgists estimate that 5.96 million tons of steel were produced in January-November 2023, a 14.9% decrease compared to the same period of the previous year.

Based on the obtained data, by the end of November, metallurgical enterprises in Poland reduced steel production by 9.7% compared to the previous month to 521 thousand tons. However, steel production in Poland increased by 26.2% on an annual basis compared to the same period last year.

In the Jan-Nov period, monthly average steel production in Poland was 543.6 thousand tons, compared to 659 thousand tons in the same period last year, showing a decrease of 17.51% compared to last year.
