Steel production in Iran continues to show positive dynamics. According to the Iranian Steel Producers Association (ISPA), in the first quarter of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21 to June 21), steel production increased by 10.5% compared to the same period last year, reaching 9.478 million tons.
Iran has also demonstrated its importance in the global steel arena. In April, Iran ranked eighth among the leading steel producing countries in the world, moving up one position in the ranking. Iran's crude steel output rose 5.9% this month, while the global average growth rate was -2.4%.
In the first 4 months of 2023, Iran produced 9.7 million tons of steel, which is 0.1% more than in the same period of the previous year. Iran maintains its position as the 10th largest steel producer in the world.
