China's steel production continued to decline for the fifth consecutive month. In November 2023, China's steel companies reduced their production by 3.8% compared to October 2023, reducing it to 76 million tons. However, compared to the November 2022 period, there was a 0.4% increase in the country's steel production.
In the November 2023 period, the daily average steel production in China decreased by 0.4% compared to the October 2022 period, falling to 2.55 million tons, and this was recorded as the lowest level since December 2022.
The blast furnace capacity utilization rate, which constitutes approximately 90% of China's total steel production, decreased by 3.1% on a monthly basis and reached 88%.
Looking at the cumulative period of January-November 2023, China's steel production reached 952.14 million tons, with an annual increase of 1.5%.
