The Central Weather Administration of Taiwan reported that the epicenter of the 7.2-magnitude earthquake was situated in the eastern waters of Taiwan Island, approximately 25 kilometers from the Hualien City Government.
This seismic event, the most powerful in Taiwan in 25 years, resulted in the deaths of 7 individuals and left 711 injured by Wednesday afternoon. Nonetheless, the operations of Taiwanese steel mills have not encountered substantial impacts.
China Steel Corporation, Taiwan's largest steel mill, confirmed that its operations were continuing normally at 09:00 on Wednesday, April 3.
