According to factory and spot market prices, the calm weather that prevailed in Turkey's sheet metal markets before the Eid holiday continues to have its effects. Although factories endeavoured to show resilient prices, the lack of demand in the spot market caused both producers and sellers to have a hazy market outlook. Ex-works prices for HRC (hot rolled coil) for August delivery in the Turkish market were heard to be $680 at the Aegean region mill, while the base price for September delivery was $700 at the Marmara region mill.
Spot prices in the Turkish flat steel market were seen as follows
HRC (hot rolled coil)
- AEGEAN REGION / $ 750
- MARMARA REGION / 740$
- PAYAS (ISKENDERUN) REGION / 730$
CRC (cold rolled coil)
- AEGEAN REGION / 850$
- MARMARA REGION / $840
- PAYAS (ISKENDERUN) REGION / 830$
GALVANISED SHEET (Turkey average) / 910$
It is reported by market representatives that export figures for HRC (hot rolled coil) are up to $650, while export figures for galvanised sheet are around $880.
