Stainless steel production in the Russian Federation increased by 24.8% in 2023. This growth can be explained by several factors.
The metallurgical production index in the country at the end of December 2023 was 99.5% - 103.3% annually.
In Russia, 4.9 million tons of unalloyed steel, especially in ingots/other primary forms, as well as semi-finished products melted. The improvement in indicators compared to November is 2.5% - 13% annually. In 2023, volumes increased by 7.9% to 60.2 million tonnes.
In December 2023, stainless steel and semi-finished products in ingot/other primary forms produced were 31.5 thousand tonnes, 3.6% less than in the previous month and 11.7% more year on year. By the end of 2023, volumes increased by 24.8% to 0.351 million tons.
The results of the production and consumption of stainless steel products will be discussed at the conference "Stainless Steel and the Russian Market" to be held in Volgograd on April 25-26.
