The new furnace is said to be capable of reheating 80 tonnes of billet per hour. In addition to ensuring perfect reheating and temperature uniformity, the plant manufacturer claims that the technology will make the reheating process more economical and environmentally friendly. Danieli adds that Centro Combustion's proprietary Hydro Mab hydrogen multiple air burners will reduce both electricity consumption and NOx emissions.
Danieli's scope of supply includes power distribution and automation systems, including Level 1 and 2 process control. The new furnace is scheduled to be operational in September 2024.
