Earnings per share totaled EUR 0.09, while the net cash position was EUR 112,451,820. General maintenance costs were reported as EUR 82,176 for the same quarter.
Regional analyses indicated SSAB Special Steels' operating profit decreased by EUR 106,223 with an operating margin of 5%. SSAB America's operating profit decreased by EUR 6,747,109 with an operating margin of 2%. SSAB Europe reported an operating profit of EUR 3,633,059 with an operating margin of zero.
The company reported that it intends to continue with planned maintenance work at its Oxelösund and Raahe plants in the fourth quarter and to implement cost reductions and flexible working hours to adapt to lower demand. At Tibnor and Ruukki Construction, it is reported that market challenges continue, but cost-cutting measures are showing positive effects.
The plans for the transition to fossil-free steel production remain on schedule. The Oxelösund conversion and the construction of the new mini-plant in Luleå proceed as organized. The HYBRIT pilot plant in Luleå produced more than 5,000 tonnes of hydrogen-thinned iron, which is used by companies such as Volvo Group, Epiroc, and Peab. The new plant is expected to decrease production costs and increase the market share of premium products.
