"The recovery in the sector continues, with a more pronounced pace observed in the fourth month of this year, but the sector is still exposed to a possible shortage of material supplies and logistics problems, among other external factors," the national automotive association Asociación Nacional de Fabricantes de Automóviles y Camiones (Anfac) said.
Production in April totalled 173,702 units, an increase of 3.2% compared to the same month in 2022. Four-month production amounted to 831,984 vehicles, up 15.7% compared to January-April last year.
Meanwhile, high demand in major markets boosted Spain's vehicle exports. The figure was 165,334 units in April, up 10.9 per cent y-o-y.
European markets accounted for 89.4% of Spain's deliveries this month, down 1.5 percentage points on the same period last year. According to Anfac data, January-April exports amounted to 759,715 vehicles, up 21.7% compared to the same period in 2022.
