Spain, which had stopped its regular metal purchases from Russia in December 2023, suspended these purchases until April. However, it resumed purchases from April and imported 21.3 thousand tons of metal worth 8 million euros during this period.
According to the official Russian news agency RIA Novosti, Spain has significantly increased its purchases of aluminum and titanium in particular. Aluminum purchases increased 1.5-fold to 13 million euros, while titanium imports rose 1.9-fold to 1.5 million euros.
Looking at the total trade volume, however, two-way trade between Russia and Spain fell by 14% to 248 million euros in April. Russian exports accounted for 177.2 million euros and Spanish exports for 70.8 million euros.
