The products, which include American Petroleum Institute (API) pipes and coated pipes commonly used in oil and gas transportation, will be used in ADNOC's natural resource projects, including gas production at Hail & Ghasha. The contract price was not disclosed by the Korean steel company.
SeAH's UAE subsidiary, SeAH Steel UAE LLC, will provide API pipes designed for the transportation of crude oil and natural gas containing hydrogen sulphide. This subsidiary has been a supplier of various types of pipes to ADNOC since 2011.
SeAH's Italian subsidiary Inox Tech S.p.A will deliver 14,000 tonnes of coated pipes for ADNOC's Hail & Ghasha gas project from the first half of next year. Composed of corrosion-resistant alloy steel and carbon steel, these tubes maintain strength comparable to conventional alloy steel while also being cost competitive.
SeAH is increasing its presence in the Middle East, as evidenced by its collaboration with Saudi Aramco in August last year. Together they formed a joint venture called SeAH Gulf Special Steel Industries (SGSI) and broke ground on a $230 million seamless stainless steel pipe facility at Saudi Arabia's King Salman Energy Park in February this year.
