According to statistics, South Korea's rebar imports amounted to around 342,900 tons in the first eight months of this year, with a 21% decrease compared to the same period last year. Among these, imports from China accounted for the largest share at 53.7%, with an annual increase of 20.3% to approximately 184,000 tons. Japan ranked second with a share of 44.6%, with approximately 153,000 tons, down 38.3% annually.
In August alone, South Korea imported approximately 39,600 tons of rebar, down 17% month on month and up 60.8% year on year.
