According to data from the World Steel Association (Worldsteel), South Korea's crude steel production in October fell by 1.82% compared to the previous month, falling to 5.4 million tons. Production also decreased by 1.8% compared to the same month last year.
In the January-October period of 2024, South Korea's total crude steel production was 53.1 million tons, down 5.1% compared to the same period last year.
South Korea maintained its 6th place in the world rankings with this production amount. However, the decline in production, which has been stable at 5.5 million tons since July, revealed the difficulties in the country's steel sector.
