According to the latest data cited by the Korea Iron and Steel Association (KOSA), imports of cold-rolled stainless steel coils recorded a remarkable growth of 17.4% in the first 11 months of this year. The total import volume reached 317,000 tons, a significant increase compared to the same period in 2022.
There was a slight decline in South Korea's imports from China. Stainless steel coil imports from China recorded a decrease of 9.3% compared to 2022, with approximately 129,000 tonnes accounting for 40.8% of the total. In addition, supplies from Vietnam recorded a significant increase, increasing by 77% and reaching 81,400 tonnes.
Another important country in South Korea's stainless steel coil imports was India. Approximately 17,400 tons of Indian imports during this period represent an increase of 111% on an annual basis.
