Total steel exports, which was 1,755,212,415.89 dollars in the January-September period of 2022, decreased by 21.41% to 1,379,349,523.59 dollars in the same period of this year. Construction steel, which is the most exported product, decreased from 329,169,29.99 dollars in the first 9 months of 2022 to 228,356,208.34 dollars in the same period of 2023, showing a 30.63% decrease.
While the exports of the welded pipe product, which ranked second, was 212,063,252.32 dollars in the January-September period of 2022, it decreased by 3.66% in the same period of this year to 204,309,103.72 dollars.
While construction parts ranked third, the export figure, which was 195,120,994.94 dollars in the first 9 months of 2022, decreased by 3.67% to 187,954,877.24 dollars in the same period of 2023.
While the exports of the coated flat steel product was 151,429,218.89 dollars in the period until September 2022, it decreased by 37.69% to 94,348,817.49 dollars in the same period of 2023. Exports of the flat hot steel product, which is one of the most exported products, decreased by 32.68% from 140,894,768.07 dollars in the January-September period of 2022 to 94,855,350.69 dollars in the same period of 2023.
The steel profile product was one of the rare products that showed an increase in the amount of exports. Profile exports, which were 126,453,211.20 dollars in the first 9 months of 2022, increased by 6.05% to 134,108,158.74 dollars in the same period of 2023.
However, when looking at the export table, the highest decrease was in the wire rod group. Wire rod exports, which were 105,868,196.45 dollars in the January-September period of 2022, decreased by 70.38% to 31,359,030.64 dollars in the same period of 2023.
Although products such as screws, bolts and nuts are among the most exported products, they decreased by 9.68% to 63,286,166.57 dollars in the first 9 months of 2023.
Although the billet product is one of the most exported products among steel products, the export figure, which was 56,579,688.03 dollars in the January-September period of 2022, decreased by 37.03% to 35,628,984.57 dollars in 2023.
Cold rolled flat steel, which was 33,567,212.84 dollars in the January-September period of 2022, decreased by 10.03% to 30,200,875.00 dollars in the same period of 2023.
Alloy flat steel, which was 33,520,419.69 dollars in the first 9 months of 2022, decreased by 63.30% to 12,300,852.60 dollars in the same period of 2023.
Stainless flat steel, which was 26,989,366.17 dollars in the January-September period of 2022, decreased by 25.70% to 20,053,368.37 dollars in the same period of 2023.
Alloy bars and profiles, which was 25,293,429.90 dollars in the 9-month period of last year, decreased by 33.22% to 16,890,252.43 dollars in the 9-month period of 2023.
The export figure of wire, which was 24,873,210.36 dollars in the January-September period of last year, decreased by 26.21% to 18,353,104.82 dollars in the same period of this year.
The product with the highest increase in exports is slab
When we look at the table, slab stands out as the product with the highest increase in exports. The slab export figure, which was 1,053,692.69 dollars in the January-September period of 2022, increased by 353.75% to 4,781,134.91 dollars in the same period of 2023.
The highest decrease in wire rod group
The product with the least decrease is seen as alloy wire rod from the wire rod group. In the 9-month period of 2022, exports of 2,576,067.93 dollars of alloy wire rod decreased by 94.63% to 138,311.77 dollars in the same period of this year.
