"In April, we can expect an increase in demand for steel. We are slowly entering the construction season. No matter how bad things are for construction now, the projects are continuing," Nikita Klimantov, head of the investor relations department at Severstal said. According to him, metal traders entered the year with low reserves, so any increase in final demand could lead to an increase in prices. "Therefore, in general, we have such optimism for the coming month," he added.
According to Klimantov, Severstal's production capacities are currently 100% loaded, while by the end of 2024, capacity utilization was about 95% due to the overhaul of blast furnace No. 5 at the Cherepovets Metallurgical Plant.
