Seversky Pipe Plant (STZ), part of the Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK), has signed an agreement with the administration of Polevsky urban district (Sverdlovsk region) on a long-term partnership in the implementation of measures aimed at improving the socio-economic policy of the city.
The document was signed by Dmitry Markov, General Director of STZ, and Konstantin Pospelov, Head of the City District. The agreement provides for the implementation of measures within four years in such priority areas as the support of children's, amateur and professional sports, the development of an early career guidance system, the organization of joint cultural and sports events throughout the city, the company's participation in city improvement projects, and the implementation of programs and projects to promote a healthy lifestyle.
"In the regions where TMK enterprises operate, they interact with municipalities to jointly address socially important issues. The new agreement is an important public document that spells out the company's obligations to develop and maintain the territory where employees and their families live and work. The initiative confirms that STZ, together with the city administration, will continue its course towards the sustainable development of Polevskoy. We are confident that the document will help to structure this work and expand the mutually beneficial partnership," Dmitry Markov emphasized.
"With all its industrial and entrepreneurial diversity and potential, our city maintains a mono-economy. A significant part of tax and other deductions is made by the city-forming enterprise, and in matters of ordinary life we always find the support of the plant. By concluding an agreement on social cooperation, we are talking primarily about the stable work of the enterprise, and in the future about the confidence of the residents. We have already implemented joint projects in the field of landscaping and housing and communal services. Today we are working together on a long-term plan to modernize public utilities in the northern part of Polevskoye. These are just important issues, not counting annual and topical ones," said Konstantin Pospelov.
