Kazakhstan Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development will extend the ban on ferrous and non-ferrous scrap and waste exports from the country for another six months. This ban will also apply to used lead batteries, waste and scrap batteries.
In order to protect the local market, the export of used pipes, rails, railway track elements and wagons was also banned. Kazakhstan has been regularly introducing such restrictions since spring 2021. Therefore, the authorities supply raw materials to Kazakh metallurgical enterprises.
