The Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu in Saudi Arabia signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Brazilian mining giant Vale on Thursday. This agreement, focusing on the development of an iron ore briquettes project, was sealed during the two-day Future Minerals Forum. This collaboration marks a significant step in Vale's efforts to contribute to the decarbonization of the steelmaking industry within the Kingdom.

At the forum, which also featured discussions on transforming Africa, Western, and Central Asia into processing and manufacturing hubs, Vale showcased its ambitious plans for the region. CEO Eduardo Bartolomeo spoke on a panel, emphasizing the technological innovations and advancements that Vale plans to implement in the Mega Hub located in Ras Al-Khair Industrial City.

Vale's participation in the forum highlighted its crucial role in promoting sustainable mining practices in the region. The company stressed its alignment with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, focusing particularly on its project in Ras Al-Khair and its commitment to achieving net-zero emissions.
