Salzgitter Flachstahl GmbH will supply Mercedes-Benz with carbon-reduced steel in the form of cold-rolled strip steel and galvanized steel.
Low-carbon steel grades are produced at Peine's mini-mill in conjunction with the steel mill's galvanizing plant in Salzgitter.
The company said expanding its product portfolio to include green strip steel from its new low-carbon production route is a key component of its currently implemented decarbonization strategy.
