Salzgitter approves low-carbon steel investment

The plan is split into three phases to produce low-carbon steel by 2033. In addition, direct reduction plants and electric arc furnaces, coke-processed blast furnaces, and converters with the new hydrogen-based steel process will replace.

The volume is almost equal to 1% of total German carbon emissions, while Salzgitter aims to reduce its carbon emissions by 95% every year.
