Russian railroad steel pipe shipments increased in August

At the same time, the annual volume of transportation decreased by 19% to 578 thousand tons.

Domestic transportation of steel pipes amounted to 511 thousand tons, which is 7% higher than the level of July 2024 and 14% lower than the figure for August last year.

Imports of steel pipes to the Russian Federation in August amounted to 17 thousand tons, a decrease of 7% compared to July 2024. At the same time, compared to the level of August 2023, import deliveries decreased by 26%.

Export shipments increased by 10% compared to the July 2024 level and fell by 47% to 51 thousand tons year-on-year.

In total, 4.9 million tons of steel pipes were shipped by rail in the first 8 months of 2024, which is 12% less than last year. At the same time, domestic supplies decreased by 7% and amounted to 4.3 million tons, the volume of exports decreased by 1.6 times compared to the same period last year.
