Steel production in 71 countries providing data to the World Steel Association in July 2024 decreased by 4.7% compared to the same period in 2023, to 152.8 million tons, the organization reported.
In January-July, metal production decreased by 0.7% compared to the same period last year and amounted to 1.1 billion tons.
Last month, according to preliminary data from the association, Russia reduced steel production by 3.1% year-on-year, to 6.3 million tons; in the first seven months of this year, production fell by 3%, to 43.1 million tons.
