The total import volume of this product from Russia amounted to $10.6 million. On a monthly basis, supplies increased by 7.2%, but a threefold decline was recorded year-on-year.
The main share in the supply structure was taken by pig iron, a key component for steel production, valued at $6.5 million. In addition, South Korea imported ferrous metal scrap and waste ($2.5 million) and ferroalloys ($1.6 million).
In the ranking of ferrous metal suppliers to South Korea, Russia rose to 12th place, improving its position from 13th place in January but falling short of the 8th place it held in February last year. The top suppliers in February were China ($356.2 million), Japan ($289.8 million), Indonesia ($30.6 million), Vietnam ($30.18 million), and India ($30.17 million).
