Problems in natural gas shipments
There are problems in natural gas shipments from Russia to Asian customers. According to the news of the relevant sources, Sakhalin Energy announced that the shipment was stopped due to problems in paying at least one North Asian customer and some delays in the revised contracts.
The Moscow government took over the ownership rights of the Russia-based Sakhalin Energy facility from a Bermuda-based company on August 19, telling customers to make their payments to banks in Moscow and stick to new agreements.
Natural gas flow is threatened
Sources on the subject stated that only a few buyers have renewed the agreement, gas flows to some countries such as South Korea and Japan are under threat, and the decrease in deliveries will result in more gas cuts this year in Japan, one of the largest buyers of Sakhalin gas.
Russian leader Vladimir Putin, who wanted to control Russia's energy assets, also limited the flow of gas to Europe. With this development, he issued a stern warning for natural gas prices from Europe to Asia.
