Türkiye's share of renewable energy sources in electricity generation reached 49.3 percent this year, up from 35.7 percent in March 2023.
Alparslan Bayraktar, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, shared an update on the issue on the social media platform X. In his post, Bayraktar stated that the share of renewable energy sources in electricity generation has increased.
Expressing that our country wants to strengthen the economy by increasing the share of domestic and renewable energy sources in electricity generation, Alparslan Bayraktar stated that according to the electricity generation data for March 2023, 35.7 percent of domestic electricity was met by renewable energy sources. As a result, this ratio increased to 49.3 percent in March 2024, marking a significant improvement in a one-year period.
The infographic also showed that 51.3 percent of electricity generation was provided by domestic sources in March 2023, and this ratio increased to 63.6 percent in March 2024.
