French car manufacturer Renault has announced that it will suspend production at its factory in Moscow due to the occupation of Ukraine.
But the decision of the French giant did not last long. Suspending its activities in Russia, Renault announced that it has resumed production at its factories in Moscow.
Allegedly, Renault received support from the French government while making the decision.
Renault, which produces in Russia, the second largest market after France, accounts for 39.5 percent of the country's vehicle production.
A Renault Moscow spokesperson said: "The situation with regard to component supply (chip crisis) is unstable and changing. We prefer not to make any predictions." said.
The Moscow factory produces Renault's Duster, Kaptur, Arkana models and Nissan Terrano.
Renault did not provide information on how long the plant will continue to operate.
RUSSIAN AUTOMOBILE GIANT STOPPED PRODUCTION
Automobile company AvtoVAZ, known for the Lada vehicles it produces, announced that it stopped its production activities at its facilities in Togliatti and Izhevsk on March 21-25 due to the shortage of electronic parts.
