The increase in construction steel sales in Vietnam was also the first growth of the year.
Hoa Phat Group, a leader in the steel industry, recorded its highest sales figure this year in September, with the company's construction steel sales rising by 15% from August to 352,000 tons.
Vnsteel's sales in September reached 265,000 tons, up by 8% from August.
According to the Vietnam Steel Association, construction steel sales rose by 9% from August and by 4% y-o-y.
Major infrastructure projects under development, such as North-South highways and airport upgrades, are seen as the reason for the increase in steel demand.
Steel prices remained stable throughout September, providing the sector. KB Vietnam Securitie expects prices to remain stable until the end of the year.
