In the first five months of 2023, Turkey exported about 1.1 million tons of rebar, a 58% decrease compared to the corresponding period last year. The value of exports fell 62% year on year to $747.7 million.
The top three export destinations were Israel (258,000 tons, down 50% year on year), Yemen (208,000 tons, down 37% year on year) and the United States (81,000 tons, down 54% year on year).
In May, rebar exports from Turkey amounted to about 207,000 tons, up 24% compared to the previous month and down 48% compared to the same period last year. The value of these exports was about $139 million, up 17% m/m and down 60% y/y.
