World Water Day, declared by the United Nations (UN) in 1993 to raise awareness by drawing attention to the problem of clean water and the protection of water resources, and celebrated on March 22 each year, was celebrated with the theme of "Accelerating Change Through Partnerships and Cooperation" this year. Among the main focal points of World Water Day is supporting the goal of “Clean Water and Sanitation”, one of the sustainable development goals of the UN. In this context, it is aimed to ensure that everyone around the world has access to clean and safe water by 2030.
Turkey's largest technical granite producer, QUA Granite, draws attention to the ever-decreasing and wasted water availability on this important day. Working for a livable world, QUA Granite underlines that even a drop of water, which is the symbol of fertility, is too precious to be wasted.
QUA Granite Marketing Manager Hande SARPKAYA emphasized that they have adopted the philosophy of respect for nature: “We adopt a lifelong sustainability approach in our products in order to offer a good life to future generations. We are aware that without water, there is no life that can be lived. Therefore, we aim to reduce the consumption of natural resources and to keep the environmental impact of our products at the lowest level. In order to increase our efficiency and prevent water wastage, we purify 100% of the waste water generated during our production activities in our industrial water treatment plant with a total capacity of 94.000 m3/day, and bring it back into production without discharging it to nature. As QUA Granite, without wasting even a drop of water; We will continue to protect nature not only on World Water Day, but in every aspect and moment of our lives.”
