Putin stated that BRICS attracted the attentions of states with similar policies and said, "According to the decision approved at the 15th BRICS Summit, BRICS now comprises 10 countries. Egypt, Iran, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Ethiopia have joined BRICS as new full members. This is a strong indicator of the growing authority of the union and its role in world affairs."
Putin remarked that they will use the slogan "Strengthening multilateralism for fair global development and security" for Russia's presidency in BRICS and stated as follows:
We will consider the preparedness of 30 countries
"Preserving traditions and guided by the experience accumulated by the union in previous years, we will take all necessary steps to facilitate the adaptation of new participants to all activities."
Emphasizing that assessments will also be made on new countries wishing to join BRICS, Putin emphasized, "We will assess the readiness of about 30 countries wishing to participate in one way or another in the multidimensional agenda of BRICS."
Putin mentioned that the member countries will pay special attention to jointly finding effective responses to the challenges to international and regional security;
"We will participate in the implementation of the BRICS Economic Partnership Strategy 2025 and the Action Plan for Innovative Cooperation 2021-2024, ensuring energy and food security, strengthening the role of BRICS in the international currency and financial system, developing interbank cooperation and using national currencies in mutual trade."
Putin pointed out that they are planning to organize more than 200 events at different levels in various cities of Russia within the scope of the BRICS presidency this year, and said that they invited representatives from all countries wishing to join or cooperate with BRICS to these events.
He added that the BRICS Summit to be held in Kazan in October 2024 will be the "culmination" of Russia's presidency.
