According to Iranian state media, the blast occurred on Saturday, April 26, around midday at Shahid Rajaee Port, located on the southern coast of Iran along the Persian Gulf. The explosion caused widespread damage and a large fire.
Officials said the blast was triggered by the explosion of several shipping containers. Shahid Rajaee is known as Iran's largest commercial port.
The shockwave was felt up to 50 kilometers away, breaking windows, damaging rooftops, and affecting many vehicles in surrounding areas.
