Organized in cooperation with Karabük Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KTSO) and Kardemir A.Ş., the “Panel on Iron and Steel Industry Perspective from World and Turkish Economy” was held in Karabük.

The current situation and the future of the sector were evaluated at the event hosted by KTSO with the contributions of Ekonomi Gazetesi.

The future of the sector was discussed

The panel was attended by Karabük Deputy Governor Mustafa Şahin, KTSO Chairman Fatih Çapraz, Kardemir General Manager Dr. Dursunali Yaşacan, Kardemir A.Ş. Deputy General Manager of Financial Affairs Fazıl Çiftçi, Nasıl Bir Ekonomi Media Chairman Hakan Güldağ, Editorial Board Chairman Dr. Şeref Oğuz and Nasıl Bir Ekonomi Media Chief Advisor Dr. Rüştü Bozkurt as well as sector representatives and business people.

Moderating the panel, Hakan Güldağ made assessments with the speakers on the current status of the iron and steel sector, the challenges it faces, and future opportunities. Reducing the carbon footprint, the importance of digitalization, and innovative solutions in the sector were among the prominent topics.

Projects for regional development were on the agenda

Critical projects for regional development such as Filyos Port Project and Eskipazar OIZ were also discussed in the panel. Fatih Çapraz, Chairman of the Board of Directors of KTSO, stated that these projects will increase Karabük's production capacity and increase its competitiveness in the global market.He also drew attention to the advantages that the rapid completion of infrastructure works will provide to the sector.

While the panel ended with a question and answer session, the participants stated that such events make significant contributions to the development of the iron and steel sector.
