Finnish stainless steel producer Outokumpu has planned to restructure its business in Germany in order to increase its competitiveness in Europe.
According to the restructuring plan, Germany's advanced material production will be fully concentrated in Dillenburg, which means that strip operations will be transferred from Dahlerbrück to Dillenburg. The company also plans to close its coil service center in Hockenheim.
The planned restructuring measures are expected to affect around 200 employees in Germany. Outokumpu states that it will seek mutual understanding with its employees and will pursue internal and external job opportunities for employees in Dahlerbrück and Hockenheim.
Overall, the investments and costs associated with the transfer are expected to be around EUR 20 million and are expected to be completed in 2024.
