Oman stands out as one of the leading countries in the region with its strategic location and natural resources in renewable energy and green hydrogen projects. Mohammad Abdelqader al Ramahi, Masdar's Green Hydrogen Director, stated that Oman's progress in this field has been realized with serious and concrete steps, especially in strategic areas such as Duqm Port.
Al-Ramahi pointed to the strong economic cooperation between Oman and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and said that increasing joint investments in the green hydrogen sector would be of great benefit to both countries. He stressed that investments will increase, especially in industries such as iron, steel and aluminum, and renewable energy projects will strengthen this cooperation.
Stating that the global green hydrogen sector is still in the development stage, Al Ramahi said that production costs are high, but Oman has a serious competitive advantage in this field. Oman's strict economic standards in its projects make it a step ahead of other countries in the region.
Finally, a strategic agreement signed between the two countries will support Oman's goal of becoming a regional investment center in the energy and industrial sectors.
