Nucor's new construction steel plant will open in November 2019.
Nucor announced that its new $400 million steel facility in Missouri has been completed and will officially open this November. The new plant location will provide the company with immediate and sufficient supply of scrap metal. Currently, Nucor has hired around 120 employees and is expected to operate on a three-shift system.
Nucor stated that the process of building a factory is filled with challenges. The employees hired are currently receiving training in Texas, Mississippi, Alabama, Arkansas, Illinois, Utah, and other locations by Nucor. In the future, it appears possible to move from the current three-shift system to a four-shift system.
