"NLMK plans to expand the production of new grades of high-strength steel and improve product quality"
"We will achieve these new goals through the reconstruction of the heating furnaces equipment, the main drives of the mill and the conveyor line, as well as the installation of new ultra-fast strip cooling and technological lubrication systems."
The NLMK had previously said that global business activity began to recover gradually in the third quarter of 2020, leading to increased demand for steel in traditional sales markets and an increase in steel prices. The company's strategy is to increase iron ore production and resume development projects in 2021.
Consolidated crude steel production in the third quarter was 3.9 million tonnes, up 3% y-o-y and sales were up 11% y-o-y to 4.4 million tonnes. From nine months to September, crude steel production remained stable at 11.9 million tonnes, but sales were 13.3 million tonnes, up 3% y-o-y.
