Japan's Nippon Steel has announced plans to build the world's largest steel mill with an annual capacity of around 30 million tons in Odisha, India.
This will be done through a joint venture between ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel known as ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India), which has signed a $6 billion agreement with the government of Odisha to build a 12 million tons per year integrated steel plant.
In addition, AM/NS India has been approved for a $46 million investment to build an additional 7 million tons/year steel plant in Odisha's Jagatsinghpur district.
