New project of Batıçim: Fuel from waste facility

Batıçim Çimento has announced that it will build a renewable fuel plant in Izmir.

New project of Batıçim: Fuel from waste facility

The Waste To Fuel (WTF) Preparation Facility, a project that has already been launched by a number of major companies, will now be carried by Batıçim. The company will not only provide for its energy needs in the project it plans to build at its factory in Izmir-Bornova. The project in concern will also put the waste in a suitable position for the "Incineration and Co-incineration" process, thus enabling the recovery of waste. The main purpose of the Waste Derived Fuel Preparation Plant will be to prepare fuel from waste.

Batıçim Çimento's new plant is estimated to have a capacity of 150,000 tons/year. In the new facility to be constructed, it is planned to shred wastes classified in different types and property categories for fuel purposes and make them suitable for the feeding system of the plant. Thus, waste with the calorific value desired for the factory will be able to be used as additional fuel in an easy way.

The issue of energy efficiency has recently become very important for cement factories. Batıçim Çimento will also make progress in reducing its costs with the Waste To Fuel (WTF) activities that it is making efforts to put into operation.
