Austrian steelmaker voestalpine AG plans to build an electric arc furnace at its facilities in Linz and Donawitz. The company, which will start the construction of the project in 2024, will spend approximately 1.5 billion Euros for this investment.
The two blast furnaces are scheduled to be commissioned in 2027 and are expected to produce 2.5 million tons of low carbon emission steel per year.
