The May futures gas contract price, traded at TTF, the Netherlands-based virtual natural gas trading point with the deepest depth in Europe, opened today at 125 euros per megawatt-hour.
Prices rose by 13.3 percent to 117 euros per megawatt-hour compared to the closing date at 09:28, Turkey time.
Russian energy company Gazprom's announcement that it will stop the flow of natural gas to Poland and Bulgaria from today was effective in the increase in natural gas prices.
Gazprom stopped the flow of gas after Bulgaria and Poland announced that they would not make their natural gas payments in rubles.
