The producton results for the first quarter of 2023 have been announced by MMK Group. The production of crude steel increased qoq by 8.1% to 3.06 million tonnes, reflecting higher domestic demand at the time.
Due to the suspension of steelmaking capacity at its Turkish division in November 2022, MMK's crude steel production decreased by 3.5% on a year-over-year basis.
Due to the overhaul of blast furnaces, the company's iron production in the first quarter fell by 3.4% compared to the previous quarter and came in at 2.43 million tons.
Following the suspension of hot-rolled coil production at the Turkish division and export limitations, MMK's finished steel sales during the period totaled 2.76 million tonnes, an increase of 2.8% quarter over quarter and a decrease of 4.3% year over year.
