Stating that the planned project will be 120 kilometers long and will also carry freight and passengers, Uraloğlu added that the 'Zengezur Corridor' and 'Development Path' projects will provide positive feedback for Turkey's commercial, logistics and political relations.
Abdulkadir Uraloğlu said the following about the Development Road Project:
"We continue our efforts to deliver all kinds of commodities coming to the Persian Gulf from major countries such as China and India, from FAW Port to our country via the Ovaköy Border Gate. When a product handled in the Persian Gulf is loaded from here, it can be transferred from Marmaray to every point in Europe via Turkey, for now. With the railway project that we will implement via the 'Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge' in the future, we will now have the opportunity to extend the limited capacity and use of limited hours here to all times. The 'Development Path Project' is between the north-south corridors of the Far East, South Asia and the Middle East. "It will be the shortest and most economical corridor that will connect Turkey to Europe. We are also implementing the 'Zengezur Corridor Project', which will provide direct rail and road transportation between Turkey and Azerbaijan."
Uraloğlu stated that the tender for the railway project, which will start from Gebze, pass the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge and extend to Çatalca via Istanbul Airport, will be held this year, and gave information that the construction process will continue for approximately 4-5 years after the tender and the project will be implemented in 2028.
