Strong Industry Strong Türkiye
Our metal industry, which supplies inputs to a wide range of sectors from automotive to construction, chemistry to machinery production, energy to rail systems, is among the sectors that embrace and symbolize our vision of “strong industry, strong Türkiye" at the highest level.
Iron and steel production increased by 14.9 percent
Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır stated that the Turkish iron and steel industry, which has an annual production capacity of 60 million tons, has an important position in the world with its production capacity, production quantity and product quality, and added: “We are the 2nd largest steel producer in Europe and the 8th largest steel producer in the world. In the first 7 months of this year, when world crude steel production decreased by 0.7 percent, we recorded a 14.9 percent increase in production.”
We are working hard to protect domestic production against dumping
We take into account the statements made by sector representatives. I can tell the sector representatives who expressed their expectations regarding the protection of domestic production against dumping that we are working very closely and closely with the Ministry of Trade and all our stakeholders on this issue. We will never leave any of our sectors alone, especially our main industrial sectors. We will bring the iron and steel industry, one of Türkiye's locomotive industries, to the value it deserves in the world.
We have prepared our low carbon road map
“Policies to combat climate change are gaining momentum around the world. The link between climate change and industrial and technology policies is getting stronger. We have prepared low-carbon road maps for the aluminum, steel and fertilizer sectors that provide basic inputs to locomotive sectors in the first stages of production chains.
We are addressing the investment needs of our sectors that will be heavily affected by the carbon regulation at the border, and we are putting in place mechanisms that meet the needs of green transformation.
