Mexico's rebar production decreased in May

In May 2023, Mexico's rebar production amounted to 331,000 tons, down by 24.3% from a year earlier. This was the biggest decrease of the year.

Rebar production accounted for 20.9% of the country's total steel output. Apparent consumption of rebar amounted to 337,000 tons, down by 6.4% y-o-y.

In May 2023, rebar exports fell by 72.7% y-o-y to 21,000 tons.
