The business forum, supported by Metinvest, is devoted to methods and plans for rebuilding the housing and infrastructure that were lost as a result of the war. The forum gathered more than 4 thousand guests. At three discussion panels, representatives of government, business and experts discussed urban policy, investment in construction, public and private initiatives that can accelerate recovery.
Steel Dream is a concept for the reconstruction of the country, which includes a set of ready-made solutions for the construction of housing and social infrastructure that can be adapted to the needs of specific communities.
“Metinvest is ready to participate in the restoration of Ukraine. The company will not only supply steel for construction, but will use its experience and expertise to make the recovery process more efficient, faster and easier. As a big business, we have taken on the responsibility of developing a general concept for the reconstruction of the country. I hope it will become an impetus to turn dreams into action,” said Yury Ryzhenkov, General Director of Metinvest Group.
Metinvest-SMC specialists have developed designs for 13 types of steel buildings, each of which is made in several versions - with taking into account different conditions and circumstances. These are residential buildings (houses on 1-8 floors, hostel, hotel), social infrastructure (school, kindergarten, outpatient clinic) and infrastructure facilities (parking, sports complex and underground shelter). In total, the concept provides more than 200 ready-made building designs based on three steel prefabricated elements (prefab solutions): frame, module and platform.
The company involved architects, planners and designers to work on the concept. More than 15 steel structure factories, as well as manufacturers of building materials, are ready to participate in the project. The "Steel Dream" is planned to be presented to representatives of the local authorities of the affected regions, and after discussion and adaptation to specific conditions, it will be transferred to the communities.
